President’s Message (Continued from page 1)

By no means is this intended to be an exhaustive account of what WBA’s leaders are doing in other organizations.  By way of example, I wish to note the following:

• WBA past President and current Board Member Kim Keenan is President of the District of Columbia Bar.

• WBA Board Member Robie Beatty is President of the DC Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. She followed WBA past President Ronald Crump in that position.

• WBA former Secretary/Board Member Annamaria Steward is President-elect of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia.

• WBA past President and current Board Member Kevin Judd is a Member of the Committee for the Local Rules Advisory Committee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Columbia. 

• WBA Treasurer Richard Wilson is Chief Justice of the 75-year old legal fraternity Sigma Delta Tau.

• A few of the WBA leaders providing leadership to organizations at the national level include:

• WBA past President and current Board Member Kevin Judd is the National President of the Howard University Law Alumni Association.  He is also an elected Board Member At-Large of the National Bar Association. 

• WBA 1st Vice President Iris McCollum Green is the Chair the National Bar Association’s Administration & Facilities Committee and Parliamentarian for the National Bar Association’s Women Lawyers Division. She is also Special Counsel for the ABA HIV/AIDS Coordinating Committee.

• WBA Board Member Charles Byrd, Jr. is the WBA's Liaison to the ABA's AIDS Coordinating Committee.
